Osteoporosis is a serious disease that affects the lives of millions of people worldwide. Timeless Women: The Campaign for Stronger Bones was launched in October 2008 in Brussels to raise awareness of osteoporosis. Experts and organizations joined forces with women with osteoporosis to share their insights and experience of this ’silent epidemic’. Timeless Women: The Campaign for Stronger Bones was initially set up by a partnership of the International Osteoporosis Foundation, the Medical Women’s International Association with a grant from Novartis Pharma AG. The aim of this campaign is to educate women about osteoporosis and empower them to live life to the fullest. As a leader in the healthcare community, Novartis believes that education about disease and available treatments will help improve overall public health. So often, the word ‘osteoporosis’ conjures up images of frail little old ladies. Yet today, women with osteoporosis work, travel and enjoy life with their families in a way that would have astounded their mothers. These women don’t want osteoporosis to slow them down and wish to continue living life to the fullest. These women deserve a treatment which allows them to live their lives without being constrained by osteoporosis. Information on this website will assist women with osteoporosis to make informed choices about the management and treatment of their disease and help them to realize that osteoporosis does not have to affect the way they live their life.
